Easy DIY Tutorial: T-Shirt into an Infinity Scarf.

I’m a girl who loves to accessorize.  There’s just something about adding an extra detail to an outfit with a pop of color or a fun print.  Scarves are a great way to achieve that look without much effort.  I have about 10, but I could easily have so many more if I’d let myself buy them!  Now that I have a DIY solution, I see many more scarves in my future.  ;)

How to re-coat furniture-- especially family heirlooms you don't want to paint!

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments about my post yesterday about my grandparents’ and the buffet.  I read every single comment, and I’m working on replying to everyone.  Those of you who were all “Whew!  Glad you didn’t paint it.  I almost lost sleep over that” cracked me up.  I had you on the edge of your seats, eh?
Alright, let’s get down to the nitty gritty of how I cleaned up and re-coated my grandparents’ 1920s buffet.  As I said yesterday, Bruce from Minwax told me everything I needed to do to bring new life to this beauty.
Here’s the before picture of the buffet taken last fall.  Before it sat in our garage collecting dust for months.

Awesome tips and inspiration to get out of debt! Love this story and the ideas!

GOSH I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. Okay, this is going to be a long one. I have lots to say.
I’ve been thinking about this post and debating whether to write it for a long time. I’m REALLY nervous to tell you all this but I think paying off your mortgage relates pretty well to budget-friendly house talk, am I right? (And when I read Ashley’s post about the same thing a while ago, I was SUPER inspired.) Anyway, I’m nervous so be gentle!
WE PAID OFF OUR HOUSE. Completely. As in, no more mortgage payment for the rest of forever. No debt of any kind, at all.

Make a wall of simple paper origami hearts. Template for download included.

I like 3D paper things, and multiples of things, and Valentine's Day. The other night I made these paper hearts while watching TV. You could stick them on a wall or door temporarily, or glue them to a board permanently to make a 3D wall poster. They'd be cool to attach to presents, too. Surprise somebody with an explosion of hearts!

Navy Blue Front Door - Sherwin Williams Navel - Curb Appeal Porch Decor Decorating Ideas - On Sutton Place

My family moved to Sutton Place in the spring of 1993. It looked vastly different then. Our yard was full of trees both in front and in back. We had no grass, no thriving landscaping and absolutely no curb appeal. We bought it mostly for the location and size…and of course the price. I experienced a dreadful case of buyer’s remorse soon after moving in. I couldn’t look at the big picture without wanting to cry…so I took things one at a time. Slowly projects were completed and improvements were made.
After years of blood, sweat and tears…here is what our house looks like today.
